Steelville First Assembly of God is nestled in the foothills of the Ozark mountains of Missouri along some of the most beautiful rivers and creeks. The first Pentecost message was preached in 1920 by Brother S.K. Biffle and Brother Charles Pepper.
On June 5, 1935 the first church was set to order by the General Council of the Assemblies of God and plans to build a new house of worship were started. On Sunday October 5, 1935 the first church service took place in the new building.
Through the leadership and guidance of Reverend Joe Massey, the new church in which we reside in today was built. On Sunday December 9, 1973 the church was dedicated to the Lord.
Pastor Jerry Beers continues to lead the church in God’s vision and into the 21st Century planting a new style of church extension called internet evangelism establishing the church website. On April 8, 2013, Steelville First Assembly of God opened their digital doors to the world of about 7 billion souls to use 21st century technology to continue spreading the 1st century Gospel.
The Church internet site consists of two main themes that is consistent. The color blue of the site and the primary theme, “Powered by God”.
The color blue is frequently associated with the tabernacle and temple furnishings (Exodus 26:1-37). The dark blue stands for the Truth, the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit (John 14:6) and the light blue reminds us of heaven and heavenly things. (Ezek. 1:26)
On our website we have no copyright at the bottom but rather we chose Powered by God. In the Bible, Jesus when He ascended to Heaven, He commanded His disciples “… Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15). As another person had stated, we also find it strange that someone who is inspired by God, insist on either making money off of it, or keeping it from changing someone’s life. It’s like saying, here’s the good news of Jesus, just don’t tell anyone unless you pay or get permission first. We are here to spread The Word of GOD !
We are committed to reconcile the lost to Christ. To teach and disciple through the Holy Scriptures, new converts in following Christ example of Godly living. To praise and worship the Living God in our lifestyles. To promote unity in fellowship for people of like precious faith therefore, producing servants devoted to the call of Christ.
